My name is Dave Eyland. I was born in Sydney, Australia, but am currently
living and working in Bangkok, Thailand.
As far as armies go all that I have with me in Thailand is a DBM Late
Imperial Roman army. I have been painting it for a number of years now and I
must admit that it isn't finished. I do have enough to field about 200+
points painted and based and more will come on line in the next few months. I
am currently expanding my stock of figures to allow me to field any of the
late roman armies (i.e. either LIR East or West and Patrician Roman) at some
stage in the future.
Other wargaming interests in the past have included napoleonics (Empire 3rd
and WRG), DBA, Napoleonic naval, micro-armour, a variety of board games (used
to be a Squad Leader fan a long time ago) and some role playing games (D
& D and Traveller). I was a member of a wargames club in Sydney before
leaving Australia two years ago.

Venexia Miniatures is a new company from Italy. We produce highly detailed
15mm for wargames and collectors.
Our first range, The Wars of Louis XIV, covers the west European armies of
late XVII Century. This is a somewhat neglected period for most of wargamers,
as their attention is more focussed on 30 Years War / English Civil War and
on the Marlborough age. Anyway the last decades of the XVII Century are
marked by lots of battles and great leaders. A period that we want to help
the wargamer to rediscover.
Our second range is dedicated to the Warriors of the Old Testament. We
started from Philistines and Israelites. The latter will probably fill a gap,
as most of manufacturers producing a biblical range don´t have a specific
Israelites range in their catalogue. Apart from historical research, we
widely took inspiration from the movie King David, with Richard Gere, and
from the book Warriors of the Old Testament by Mark Healy and illustrated by
Richard Hook (Brockhampton Press, London 1989).
We are also preparing a third range: the Ottoman Turks. It will cover a wide
period, from XIV Century to the siege of Vienna and even further.
